FRIDAY FIGHTNIGHT LIVE SPECIAL ATTRACTION TO SHOWCASE ROY JONES JR. BOXING FROM AMERICA’S HEARTLAND

For Immediate Release:

Fan-friendly fight series approaching one million views after six months and eight shows.

Online: https://www.facebook.com/FaceFIGHTNIGHTLIVE/

Brooklyn, NY – This Friday night, Facebook FIGHTNIGHT LIVE will collaborate with Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions once again to showcase top-notch talent during a special one-hour attraction live from America’s Heartland. Fans from across the globe can catch all the action beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. CT (local time) from WinnaVegas Casino Resort in Sloan, Iowa, on any device wherever Facebook is available, as the series continues to build with a ninth show on the six-month-old platform.

Undefeated Max “Baby Face Assassin” Ornelas headlines this exciting fight card. Ornelas (9-0) is considered by many to be a blue-chip prospect in the sport of boxing at the 118lbs (bantamweight) division. Ornelas is also enrolled full time at The University of Las Vegas (UNLV) and was last seen back in July when he defeated the previously unbeaten Leopoldo Matinez (6-1) from Laredo Texas by way of a 5th round TKO in Arizona. Ornelas is taking a huge leap in competition as he takes on the WBA #14 contender and reigning WBA Pan-African Champion Nick Otieno (31-11) from Kenya, Africa in a 10-round main event.

Just to show the vast discrepancy in experience, Otieno has more bouts (42) fought in his professional career than Ornelas has rounds fought (34); not to mention the quarter of a century age gap (19 and 44). Otieno, who in his last fight, defeated Haji Juma (17-9) in Kenya for the vacant WBA Pan-African Championship. He will be making his USA debut when he takes on Ornelas on Friday November 17 at the WinnaVegas Casino Resort. Otieno has won 10 out of his last 12 and has never been stopped or even knocked down. Nick will pose the biggest and most difficult test in the young career of Ornelas. On the other hand, a victory over Otieno will be a huge accomplishment for Max and solidify his place among the Bantamweight ranks.

“It’s an exciting time for the boxing community now that Roy Jones Jr. Promotions can help showcase the undercard tomorrow night,” stated Keith Veltre, CEO and Co-Founder, Roy Jones Jr. Promotions.

“We know that the young talent can’t always have their family and friends in the stands for support, so we are proud to be able to help them showcase their talent for all the world to see on Facebook FIGHTNIGHT LIVE.”

“Roy Jones Jr. and I are honored to be a part of the Winnavegas Casino Resort team.” stated Keith Veltre, CEO and Co-Founder of Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions. “My team has been welcomed with open arms from the staff and we could not be more excited to showcase our talent in Iowa. It is always exciting to give the fight fans, not only a stellar fight card, but as well to bring them the one and only Roy Jones Jr. himself.”

Boxing Legend and future first ballot Hall of Famer, Roy Jones Jr will be in attendance to watch all the festivities.

The one-hour show on Friday will feature some of RJJ Promotions’ up-and-coming attractions, along with some outstanding Midwest and West Coast brawlers. Fighters expected to be delivered exclusively via the Facebook platform include Arizona’s Abel Ramos (18-2, 13 KOs), Chicago’s Nathaniel Gilmore (19-1, 16 KOs), and California’s undefeated Hector Lopez Jr. (7-0, 4 KOs). They’ll take on a trio of Mexican-born battlers in Cesar Soriano (Mexico City), Esau Herrera (Mexico City) and Israel Rojas (Sonora) who have combined for 62 victories, collectively.

“The FIGHTNIGHT LIVE series continues to grow, from New York to Connecticut to Chicago to Phoenix to New England, and now a great opportunity in the Midwest, with much more to be announced. We’re pleased to be able to work with national promoters like Roy Jones Jr. and Keith Veltre to provide this service to fight fans everywhere,” said Mark Fratto, Principal of Linacre Media.
