Brooklyn, NY: On March 3, 2018, both Showtime Boxing and HBO Boxing will go head to head in broadcasting championship matches to the entire world. For years Showtime Boxing and HBO Boxing have been in competition to provide the best matchups for fight fans to watch from all around the world. This is not the first time in boxing’s history that both networks have broadcasted championship fights on the same date. The fascinating and intriguing part about this is that both boxing events are taking place, simultaneously, in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Fight fans have the option of traveling to the Barclays Center or to the Theater at Madison Square Garden to enjoy a great night of championship boxing.

Battle for New York City Boxing – Tale of the Tape

On March 3, Showtime Boxing is scheduled to showcase the long-awaited matchup between Unbeaten WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder vs fellow unbeaten challenger Luis Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs). America’s only reigning heavyweight champion will look to put on another unforgettable performance when he faces his toughest opponent to date in Ortiz. The bout, presented by Premier Boxing Champions and promoted by DiBella Entertainment and TGB Promotions is scheduled for twelve rounds, and will take place at Barclays Center, the home of BROOKLYN BOXING. The co-feature and undercard of this blockbuster event has yet to be announced.

The Theater at Madison Square Garden

Also on March 3, HBO Boxing is scheduled to broadcast a Main Events, Krusher Promotions and World of Boxing (in association with EC Box Promotion) promoted bout featuring current WBO Light Heavyweight Champion Sergey Kovalev vs challenger Igor Mikhalkin and WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Dmitry Bivol vs. mandatory challenger Sullivan Barrera. Both championship bouts are scheduled for twelve rounds and will take place at New York City’s Theater at Madison Square Garden. Both Kovalev and Bivol are considered two of the best skilled and fearsome punchers in their division. They have a huge Russian fan base are expected to sell out the venue.
