Current undefeated WBA Welterweight (Super) Champion Keith “One Time” Thurman is getting his long awaited shot against the legend, the man known simply as “Pacman” aka Manny Pacquiao as both men collide to determine once and for all title WBA Welterweight Champion in the 147lb division.

Thurman, who’s considered the official champion of the division, will look to squash all doubt against the current WBA (Regular) Welterweight Champion.

With two men staking claim as the champion in their respective division, one can become confused regarding this issue. What’s not to be mistaken or misinterpreted is that their championship fight will take place on July 20, with a venue TBA.

Thurman (29-0, 22 KOs) and Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs) are set to face-off in a special pay-per view feature with the winner having final claim to welterweight supremacy.

Pacquiao is a modern day marvel. At forty years old, eight-division world champion continues to pose a threat to any fighter he faces between 140-154lb. With all the accolades and records that Pacquiao has set and achieved, the question begs to be asked: why is he still fighting?

Pacquiao defeated four division world champion Adrien Broner this past January and he faces a man in Thurman, who himself is trying to find his way back to the top of his division. Once listed on many peoples and lists and the best 147lb fighter in his division, Thurman has had a difficult time in proving that again.

With the several injuries sustained throughout the years, many question as to if Thurman still packs the punch and desire to be placed with elite of the elite in the sport of boxing.

Will we get the same Pacquiao who’s known for throwing punching from all different angles, often darting in and out of range, using his southpaw stance to confuse his opponents? Or will we “One Thurman” resort back to his old self and go for a knockout against the ageless wonder?
