Lou Dibella’s Dibella Entertainment has announced a new pro boxing event to take place on July 8, at BB King’s, located in NYC’s Times Square. The card features several up-and-comers boxing fans should keep a close eye on, including fighters actively followed by Brooklynfights.com. As the date approaches, we’ll bring you more updates and new interviews with a number of fighters on the card.
For starters, we caught up with NYC pro boxing prospect, Alicia “The Empress” Napoleon, who is quickly climbing the ladder to bigger and better fights. She claimed some $30,000 in ticket sales for her second pro fight which took place at Resorts World in Queens, New York on May 30th. In that four rounder, she defeated Hungary’s Melinda Lazar, who was also 1-0 at the time, via unanimous decision.
She is scheduled to face Lyneisha Jefferson (0-2) in the new bout. One of Jefferson’s losses was with Kali Reis, who Napoleon was originally scheduled to fight at Resorts World last month. Reis pulled out, leading to Napoleon’s match-up with Lazar.
“This fight brings me one step closer to building a solid name and getting recognition in New York,” Napoleon told Brooklynfights.com. “It’s adding another piece in the puzzle for a title fight. Every fight is a stepping stone–I am just climbing the ladder and one step closer to accomplishing my dreams.”
